Home Office Color - SPA

I visited a client's home last week and saw all of the personal touches they have been making to their home since they moved in a few weeks ago. Everything looked wonderful and it is nice to see a place transformed from a vacant shell to a home.

As usual, this sparked my own home improvement projects. Especially in my home office. It was a flurry of activity over the weekend - moving furniture, organizing, throwing out or giving away items, and cleaning up. In addition, I decided it was time to paint. I wanted something bright and energizing. I went with Spa, part of the Connecting Spaces palette by Olympic Paint.

I love my small makeover. Paint makes a huge difference to a room. Pick a color that feels good to you and go for it. You can always paint over it if you don't like it.

Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Rules Amended

Effective June 1, 2010, there have a few changes to the Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Rules. Briefly:

*Extending the time frame to conduct and conclude the mediation from 90 to 135 days;
*allowing the parties and the mediator to agree to a continuance;
*and if the homeowner is accompanied and/or represented by another person, that person must be either a Nevada-licensed attorney or a licensee under NRS 645F.310For more information click here.

Housing Stays Affordable

Nationwide housing, bolstered by favorable interest rates and low house prices, hovered for the fifth consecutive quarter near its highest level of affordability since the series was first compiled 19 years ago, according to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Opportunity Index (HOI).

The HOI showed that 72.2 percent of all new and existing homes sold in the first quarter of 2010 were affordable to families earning the national median income of $63,800, slightly higher than the previous quarter and near the record-high 72.5 percent set during the first quarter a year ago.

In terms of affordability, Las Vegas ranks 86th nationwide and 4th regionally. For the first quarter of 2010 the share of homes affordable for the median income was 83.6%. This is good news considering a few years back when it was difficult for locals to find affordable home prices.
